Toxins in Your Home: BPA

There is a growing movement calling on companies to remove plastics from their packaging. There are a lot of reasons for this, but one important reason is that a toxic chemical known as BPA is prevalent in many plastics, and therefore has become one of the most common toxins in our homes. We can very easily be exposed to it on a daily basis, and that has significant implications for our health, as explained in the article linked below. My big takeaways are quoted below.

“Numerous scientists...have uncovered a link between BPA and obesity. The chemical has also been associated with coronary artery disease, increased blood pressure, and issues with female reproductive development.“

“To avoid BPA exposure... homeowners should stop microwaving plastic, scale back on canned food consumption, and replace plastic containers with an alternative like glass or stainless steel.”
